More Optio for treating pine beetle infested trees

Those landowners who attended the pine beetle workshop in Stove Prairie February 21 will have received the forest management manual, Saving Your Forest.That manual contains a number of options for treating beetle infested trees.

We mentioned in the manual that we would be sending you more helpful and practical information as we came across it. Since every landowner will have different priorities to consider for their property, we will try to provide you with a variety of options to consider.. Below is a link to a U.S. Forest Service bulletin that you may wish to print out and add to the options already in your manual.

Fellow tree farmers John and Tam Snyder have become Log Wizard dealers in order to get these little wonders out to the community at a reasonable price.  The Log Wizard is a small planer which can be installed on most chainsaws and is especially useful for de-barking beetle hit trees.  The units will sell for $175.00 each, which includes taxes and shipping.  The following link has videos showing the operation and installation:
